  • As per rules of Govt. of Tamilnadu examinations are conducted, Promotion of student will be on the basis of the notification of the Dept. of Education Govt. of Tamilnadu.
  • If a student remains absent for any test/examination NO re-test/ re-examination will be conducted. In case of illness, medical certificate is to be produced. Without valid reason if he/she will be penalized as per Govt. rules.
  • If a student remains absent for one or more subjects then he/she will not get a rank for the test/examination.
  • Any sort of malpractice during test/examination will be severely dealt with.
  • Severe action will be taken against tampering with test/examination/question paper, answer sheet, report card, etc.,
  • The report card (test & examination) must be duly signed only by the Parents/ Guardian whose signature is present in the specimen signature column of the handbook.
  • Any sort of complaint regarding the answer sheet should be brought to the notice of the Class Teacher/ Headmistress already.
  • The result of the test/examination will be withheld if there are any complaints or dues to be settled.
  • A student, who shows no signs of academic progress consecutively for two years, is liable to be removed from the school.

  • All students must be present in their respective class room five minutes before the assembly bell. Late comers will not be allowed to the school.
  • It is compulsory to bring the Hand Book every day to the school. Those failing to bring will be sent to home.
  • Irregular attendance, disobedience or indecent behavior in the class room or school premises will be severely dealt.
  • The parents / guardian will be held responsible for any kind of damage or loss to the school property. It must be immediately compensated.
  • No books, newspapers or periodicals, CD's, Mobiles, Video games to be brought to school, except school text books, library books and books recommended by the teachers.
  • With a view- to increase the proficiency in English all English medium Students are expected to speak in English in school premises, compulsorily.
  • Student should maintain silence while moving from classes, assembly, playground etc.
  • Misbehavior, cheating, abusing, etc by the peer group or any other children of the school, should be brought to the notice of the class / concerned teacher immediately.
  • Students are not allowed to meet parents or visitors or to leave the school premises without the permission of the Headmistress.
  • All students are responsible to the school authority for their behavior both in & outside school. Hence misbehavior in public places, conveyance etc., justifies strict action.
  • Collection of money for any purpose requires the Headmistress permission.
  • Students must bring only vegetarian food to the school, Non- vegetarian food or egg is totally prohibited in the school premises.
  • All students should bring a spoon and a napkin along with their lunch box.
Parents / Guardians, your attention please!
We are indeed indebted to you for your help and co-operation for molding the future citizens of our country in all aspects.
We earnestly request you to see that you and your ward abide by the rules put forth by us for their betterment and also of the school.
FOR PARENTS / GUARDIANS: We have some guideline, please follow:
  • Parents are requested not to meet the Headmaster / Headmistress or teacher before or after school hours except for the day and time specified.
  • Guardians should not be changed often.
  • If the parents wish to meet the teacher in case of an emergency it has to be with the written permission of the Headmistress.
  • Parent, visitors are not allowed to meet the students during school hours.
  • Students / Parents should not give any sort of gifts to the teachers in any occasion.
  • Teachers are forbidden from giving tuitions to our students. For Weaker Students Coaching classes will be arranged by the Headmistress.
  • Parents are requested to notify the school immediately, if there is any change within 7 days of receiving the Hand Book for the academic year.
  • The duly filled declaration from and the personal record should be submitted within 7 days after receiving the Hand Book for the academic year.
  • Parents are requested to check the Hand Book regularly the teacher's / Principal's remark and promptly acknowledge.
  • Parents are requested not to pass oral messages through auto / van drivers, servants etc. it is to be written in the Hand Book only.
  • It is compulsory for all the Parents / Guardians to attend all the Open Day sessions arranged by the school, failure to do so will invite fine.
  • The change in Phone Numbers / Addresses must be intimated to Headmistress immediately.

General Rules:
  • Shree Gowthamchand Kothari Jain Higher Secondary School and Primary School are recognized by the Govt. of Tamilnadu.
  • In this School overall development of the child is emphasized.
  • Applications for Admission must be taken from school office only through the parents or guardian. And it should be signed compulsorily by the parents or guardian only.
  • Students who come from other schools have to produce the School Transfer Certificate from the last Govt. recognized school he/she has attended.
  • If a student from other state except Tamilnadu comes for admission. It is compulsory for them to get it duly signed from the D. E. O.
  • Admission for a particular class is tested based on their ability, from the performance in the entrance test.
  • Application for transfer certificate should be made in writing to the Head mistress, by the Month of March failing which, one third of fees for the next year to be paid, Transfer Certificated will be issued 10 days after submission of application or after the results are announced.
  • Fees once paid will not be refunded.
UNIFORM for Boys:
LKG to V:
Regular School Uniform: Light Blue checked shirt and Light Blue plain Trouser.
Monday Uniform: Complete White Uniform for all the classes.
Friday Uniform; Sports Uniform.
VI to X:
  • (a) Regular School Uniform: Half Sleeve light blue checked shirt and plain light blue full pant (Without Tie) with Black Shoes and Black Socks.
  • (b) Monday Uniform: Half Sleeve White Shirt and White full pant (Without Tie) with White Canvas Shoes and White Socks.
  • (c) For P.E.T Classes: Particular Sports T-Shirts with White full pant (Without Tie) with White Canvas Shoes and White Socks.

XI and XII:
  • (a) Regular School Uniform: Full Sleeve light blue checked shirt and plain light blue full pant (With Tie) with Black Shoes and Black Socks.
  • (b) Monday Uniform: Full Sleeve White Shirt and White full pant (With Tie) with White Canvas Shoes and White Socks.
  • (c) For P.E.T Classes: Particular Sports T-Shirts with White full pant (Without Tie) with White Canvas Shoes and White Socks.
UNIFORM for Girls:
PRE-KG to V:
Regular School Uniform: Frock.
I to V:
Regular School Uniform: Light Blue Pinafore with light blue checked shirt.
Monday Uniform: Complete White Uniform for all the classes.
Friday Uniform; Sports Uniform.
VI to X:
UNIFORM for Girls:
Regular School Uniform light blue checked Chudidhar Tops with Plain light blue coat & pant and black shoes and black shocks with Black Ribbon.
Monday Uniform: White Chudidhar tops, white coat, white pant, white Shoes and white Socks with White Ribbon.
For P.E.T classes: Particular Sports Over Coat with white Chudidhar top and pant, white shoes and white socks.
 
XI and XII:
  • (a) Regular School Uniform: Light blue checked Chudidhar Collared Tops with Plain light blue coat & pant, black shoes, black shocks and Black Ribbon.
  • (b) Monday Uniform: White Chudidhar Collared tops, white coat, white pant, white Ribbon, white Shoes and white Socks.
  • (c) P.E.T classes: Particular Sports Over Coat with white Chudidhar collared top and pant, white Ribbon, white shoes and white socks.
  • It is compulsory for every student to come to school in complete school uniform.
  • The school uniform should be clean and well ironed or pressed
  • Shoes should be clean and polished.
  • Hair style must be simple as befitting school students. If hair style is short for girls then respective color hair band can be worn. If long it should be plated in two with respective color ribbons. No fancy hair cut is allowed.
  • Finger nails should be trimmed and kept clean. Nail polish is not allowed.
  • Ornaments are not allowed except bangle and ear ring which are not expensive and lengthy, for girls.
  • Wrist watch can be worn from Std. VIII onwards.
  • If the school uniform is incomplete or if it is not clean and well maintained, strict action will be taken.
  • Personal Cleanliness and hygiene is expected from all students.

 

Attendance:
  • Regular attendance in school is compulsory.
  • It is compulsory for the students to be present in the school after the holidays.
  • If a student remains absent for three days without notice to the Headmistress (or) Class Teacher, such names will be struck off from the register.
  • Leave letters must be given to the class- teachers in advance.
  • If the student takes leave continuously for more than 3 days on medical grounds then he/she has to produce medical certificate along with the leave letter only then he/she will be permitted to attend the classes.
  • To appear in the final exam a pupil must have minimum of 80% attendance of the total working days for the academic year.
  • Attendance at official school functions, National & State functions is compulsory or else action will be taken.
